Richard Ivey Student Takes Gold at International Case Competition

London, Ontario (PRWEB) April 30, 2008 -- Paul Jun, a third-year HBA student at Richard Ivey School of Business in the University of Western Ontario, placed first in the DECA Financial Services competition, at the International Case Competition (ICDC) held in Atlanta, GA on April 12-15.

Competitors from around the world were tested on their proficiency in conducting comprehensive financial analysis and providing compelling recommendations to the case client. Their skills were measured through a comprehensive written exam and two rounds of case presentations judged by a panel of industry professionals. These professionals also assist in the development of the case situations.

Paul was selected to represent Canada at the competition after placing 1st in the 2007 DECA Ontario Provincial Case Competition. He is a three-time international case competitor, having previously represented Canada in retail strategy and business-to-business sales.

Paul is Executive Director and founding member of Investors of Tomorrow, a federally accredited charity providing financial literacy education to more than 4,000 students across Canada. He actively participates in community and has been previously involved with for Children's Hospital of Western Ontario, the Aboriginal Youth Centre, Junior Achievement and Christmas for Tots. He is one of twenty-three Western National Scholars and has been honored with a number of awards including Governor General Academic Medal and the Mayor Hazel McCallion Youth Leadership Award.

Paul has experienced working in sales and trading at RBC Capital Markets and is currently a summer Private Equity Analyst at CPP Investment Board involved in principal investing, funds and secondaries and infrastructure investments. Several of his interests include skiing, volleyball, international relations, global markets, telecommunications and loyalty marketing.

DECA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit student organization preparing its membership for careers in marketing, management and entrepreneurship.
